Music - Music by Ilaiyaraaja is very good. The whole story happens only in the last 45 minutes and rest 2 hours contributes nothing significantly to the story. Technical Departments - Cinematography is superb. Sharat Saxena is very good in the baddie role. Muralimohan gets a pivotal role and he fits the bill. Watch out for his antics and attempts to woo Amala. He is extremely good as the cop, in one of his best charming performances. Performances - It is a Nagarjuna's show all the way. Whether he succeeded in it or not ? forms the story. Story - An ex-professor, now a bloody criminal, seeks to take revenge on the antagonist.

Still, the performances, especially those of Regina, Baby Vedhika and Harris Moosa (who appears as a considerate police officer) anchor it, and prevent it from totally sinking.First of all, it must be noted that this film is a remake of 1987 Hollywood movie "Stake Out". And, despite all this, when they do reach Chennai, he leaves her in front of a locked gate and makes his way, in the middle of the night, no less! Agreed, the film is based on a real-life incident but as a film, this feels less convincing. It is hard to believe that Mukund, who is trying to safeguard Meera by taking her to his parents’ place in Chennai, will spend 10 days at a remote village when he should be trying to get her there as soon as possible. The plot also goes haywire towards the end when Mukund’s secret is discovered, and the climax is logically shaky. Yes, the intention is to keep us guessing as to what has happened to Jeni but the present-day events play more in a rather predictable (Simran falls in love with Mukund, a cop tries to take advantage of a secret) and at times dull (much like Mukund, who never earns our sympathy) fashion that the flashback loses some of its intrigue. He takes a little too long to get into the back story and when he does get to it, he provides them in bits and pieces. The problem is director SS Srisaravanan’s leisurely style of narration that gives it a tele-film feel. The film seems like a 45-minute short film that has been stretched to feature length. However, despite its intentions, it succeeds only passably as a movie.
Nirnayam wants to be a cautionary tale about how living beyond your means will destroy one’s happiness and puts its message across through the lives of a married couple, Mukundan and Jeni. A heated argument ends up in a catastrophe from which there might never be redemption.
She tries to talk sense into him but he is not in a mood to accept his mistakes. Soon enough, his debts pile up and the loan sharks start harassing Jeni.
Things are rosy at first but Mukund starts spending more and more, always justifying that he wants to give his wife a taste of all the things she has missed so far in life. He had to walk away from his home after his parents refused to accept an orphan as their daughter-in-law. Over flashbacks, we learn about Mukund and Jeni’s (Regina) marriage. They are helped by an amiable dhaba owner Simran (Saranya), who gives them a place to stay and a job for Mukund in her roadside eatery. The film takes place over a 10-day period when Mukundan (Vikram) and his daughter, Meera (Vedhika), are stranded in a remote village after the bike has a problem. Where are they going, and what has happened to mother? We then see the father and the now grown-up child going on a bike over a remote highway. A pregnant woman and expresses her wish to her husband that her child should never feel lonely, unlike her, an orphan.
